Privacy Policy

ScannerCam Light is built to keep your documents private. Everything stays on your device — with one explicit exception: the optional in-app feedback feature, described below, which only transmits data when you actively choose to send it.

What we collect

Almost nothing. Apart from the optional feedback feature described below, ScannerCam Light does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. There are no user accounts and no analytics or tracking of any kind. See the Feedback section below for the sole exception.

Where your data lives

• Scanned images are stored as files on your device only.
• Document titles and text are kept in a local database on your device.
• Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device — no images or text are sent anywhere.

Network access

The app makes no background network requests. The only times an outbound connection is made are: (1) when you deliberately tap the optional donation link, which opens your browser to a third‑party donation page — we don't control or receive data from that page; and (2) when you explicitly submit feedback through the in-app feedback form, as described in the Feedback section below.

Feedback

The app includes an optional Send feedback feature. No data is ever sent unless you open the feedback form and tap Submit. When you do, the following is transmitted:

• Your message — the text you type in the feedback form (required).
• Your email address — only if you choose to enter one. Providing an email is entirely optional.
• Non-personal diagnostics — app version, OS version, device model, and language/locale. These help reproduce reported issues and contain no information about your documents.

This data is sent to a Cloudflare Worker service, which creates a publicly visible issue in the app's GitHub repository. This means:

• Your message text will be visible to anyone on the internet.
• If you include your email address, it will also be publicly visible in the GitHub issue.

The app warns you about this public visibility before you submit. Do not include sensitive information in your feedback message, and consider whether you want to include your email given that it will be public.

No scanned documents or their contents are ever sent. Feedback submission is strictly limited to the fields listed above.

Sharing

When you export or share a document, you choose the destination through your device's own share sheet. That action, and where the file goes, is entirely under your control.

Children's privacy

Because the app performs no background data collection and the optional feedback feature is explicitly user-initiated, it poses no passive data-collection risk to users of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
